Youth and Homeschool Art classes Thursdays beginning August 14 1-3:30 pm
Over 8 weeks, students will learn about the elements of design. They will have the opportunity to use different mediums such as acrylic paints, collage art, and pastels. Their work will be inspired by artists like Georgia O'Keefe, author Eric Carle and Japanese prints. Students will learn about contrast, color variance, line as movement and texture. We will explore art history all while creating great works.
Older students will explore and be inspired by different artists and their style. We will create self portraits using the style of Chuck Close. We will learn about proportion, value and texture. Students will be exposed to the art of Gustav Klimt creating their own scratch board art. They will learn about optical illusion and the use of colored pencil.
